Want to have your own gold panning in Alaska adventure? Prospector John's has all the equipment you need to hit the motherlode. Take a quick panning lesson, pick up your free treasure map and we'll point you towards your pay dirt.

Stop by the rustic town of Cooper Landing where for $29 per person or 3 people for only $75 you'll receive your own poke (a full Bucket) filled with rich pay dirt you select by diggin it yourself. The rich paydirt comes from a working Alaska mine area. (no condiments are required).  

Next you'll be shown how to use a sluice box (panning this much paydirt by hand might take you several hours) Next after running your paydirt through a sluice, one of our friendly staff will help you collect all your black sands and heavy concentrates so you can pan out and uncover your gold. Your "find" will be placed in a glass vial for you to take home as a memento of an experience you're sure to treasure.

Pioneer Village Location: Pioneer Village is located close to the Kenai Lake bridge on Sterling Hwy, just a few short steps from the World Famous Kenai River. Stop by to do some gold panning for real Alaskan gold.

Sterling Location: Don't misss the Gem Mine, Kids and adults alike can explore Prospector John's mine shaft or go the the top of Gem mountain and pan out gems and fossils in the long wooden trough.

Prospector John's Gold Panning store is located in the center of several buildings at "Alaska Carousel Carvers" (Look for a house sized Ice Cream Cone) We have Prospector John's great jerky along with our man made river for sluicing out gold.  Enjoy the wonderful surroundings of astounding artwork from Carousel Carvers, do some Alaska gold panning or try our jerky. We also carry the same collection of hand crafted earrings and artwork as Cooper Landing.
