Prospector John's Back Country Prospecting is the only wild stream gold panning and scenic raft trip combination permitted by the United States Forest Service and offered in Alaska.  This is truly a one of a kind Alaska experience.  Your adventure begins with Prospector John's staff  instructing you on the proper use of the prospecting equipment you will be using on your excursion:  the sluice box, the gold pan and the classifier.   Fitting you with hip high rubber boots and wet weather gear, as well as a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device is a requirement.  Your experienced and licensed rafting guide will board you on the raft to coast through the scenic Kenai Mountains begins for approximately one hour, followed by an approximate 1/2 mile hike through the wilderness with your prospector to reach the remote stream waiting for your prospecting to begin.
