Join us for a breathtaking convertible-like boat ride across Kenai Lake destination Devil’s Canyon Mining Camp. Towering mountains encircle Kenai Lake, the peaks and heights reflecting off the milky turquoise water. The scenery mesmerizes and inspires, affording perfect backdrops for photos and selfies. Enchanting scenery meets gold panning and prospector lore – a tour like no other offered in Alaska!


Upon arrival at Devil’s Canyon Claim, tour our mining camp set alongside a glacial stream. Hear the rushing waterfall concealed from sight but only steps away from the lake's shore!  Learn the basics of gold panning as you pan gold concentrates next to the waterfall. Keep the gold you pan!

Amazing 2-hour adventure! John took us out on his boat to a prospecting site about 30min away. Mike taught us novices how to pan gold with some concentrate pulled from a sluice box just up the river. John and Mike were both so friendly and knowledgeable, the boat ride was incredibly beautiful, and it was really neat to see how the process works in Alaska of all places, home to the gold rush. My 8-year-old daughter wants to go back tomorrow, my 2-year-old loved the boat ride. Highly recommend!!! (Bring warm clothes if you’re doing the boat ride).


PREPARING FOR YOUR ADVENTURE: Rubber boots recommended but not required. This is Alaska, wet weather gear, including jacket, hat, and gloves, binoculars, water, and snacks encouraged! Arrive at our gift store 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time and our friendly staff will direct you regarding meet-up details.
